Valor Law LLC was founded by Valerie Wong-Thomas Chin Phoon on 19 April 2023.  It is a boutique practice specializing in real estate, corporate and private client services, personal injury and property damage claims, and debt recovery.

Valerie Wong-Thomas Chin Phoon

 

Valerie was admitted to the Bar on 12th February 1986. She practised in Haridass Ho & Partners as an Associate then Partner from February 1986 to December 1997 (except for the period when she took a sabbatical and obtained, in 1995, a Masters degree in Business Administration), in Wong Thomas & Leong as a Partner then Consultant from January 1998 to 31st October 2019, and in RWong Law Corporation as an Associate from 5 November 2019 to the present.

From the start of her practice at Haridass Ho & Partners in 1986, Valerie

​

- acted as legal advisor to financial institutions, companies, individuals, societies in loans and security documentation;

​

- acted as legal advisor to buyers, sellers, Central Provident Fund Board and financial institutions in the purchase of residential, commercial and industrial property and vessels and the financing of the purchase of the same;

​

- acted as legal advisor to home owners for the en-bloc sale of residential developments, in leases of property including leases of JTC and URA/State property.

In addition to the above, Valerie has over the years

​

- acted as legal advisor for both start-ups as well as investors dealing with the issues and documentation relating to financing of the start-ups;

​

- acted as legal advisor to buyers and sellers of companies, businesses and assets and dealing with the issues and documentation relating to the sale and purchase thereof;

​

- acted as legal advisor advising on the amalgamation of companies;

​

- acted as legal advisor for various healthcare organisations and hospitals;

​

- acted as legal advisor in the setting up of various businesses including an on-line clothing retail business and preparing various forms of standard documentation for the sale of goods or services or otherwise relating to the conduct of business including but not limited to agency, distribution and franchise agreements;

- acted as legal advisor in the incorporation of companies and thereafter as company secretary in maintaining the corporate records of the companies and advising companies on the issue of corporate governance.

Pauline Ong

​

Pauline handles a diverse range of civil litigation matters in particular personal injury and medical negligence matters.

The up-swing of medical negligence in Singapore has put her in a position poised to take on the intricacies of medical negligence law suits.

​

The unique knowledge and experience in this very niche field of practice lends tremendous credibility to the advice offered to clients involved in personal injury cases arising from road and industrial accidents.

​

The firm regularly takes on matters that requires litigation and assessment of damages where parties are unable to strike a balance on damages to be awarded in personal injuries and medical negligence matters.

​

Having said, Pauline takes a very active and practical approach in Dispute Resolution and approaches each matter with a practical solution which affords the client the option of a graceful and painless settlement. These are traits that speckle her unique skills in negotiations and the ability to resolve difficult matters in a fair and reasonable manner.
